Friday, June 01, 2007. During our last month, with the end in sight, we became more and more ready to head back home to our friends and family. It was a strange feeling getting onto an aeroplane for the tenth time and to feel as excited about seeing my home again as I was about seeing the cow-filled streets of India, or the coconut-milk-enriched people of Thailand. What is going on here? Why do people believe the wrong story in the face of the overwhelming scientific evidence? Vaccines are to blame. It seems to make sense and gives us warm feelings that we have understood the world and can proceed with that knowledge. On the flipside, we are happy to accept the extremely high probabi.
